Silicon sun indicator SDE 9.1 measures global radiation and solar radiation duration. The German Meteorological Service (DWD) sets the sunshine duration threshold at 120 W/m2. The sensor provides digital yes/no information for sunshine duration and a voltage as information for global radiation and the measurement is corrected concurrently.
With the help of these sensors, it is possible to measure not only solar radiation but also other crucial parameters such as reflected and scattered radiation. Electronic measuring instruments utilize a range of measuring elements to detect radiation. Low-cost silicon sensors are used, as well as high-quality temperature sensors that meet the highest requirements.
