Features Ship separator BOWS Series include:
An oily water separator (OWS) (marine) is a piece of equipment specific to the shipping or marine industry. It is used to separate oil and water mixtures into their separate components. This page refers exclusively to oily water separators aboard marine vessels. They are found on board ships where they are used to separate oil from oily wastewater such as bilge water before the wastewater is discharged into the environment. These discharges of wastewater must comply with the requirements laid out in Marpol 73/78.
Bilgewater is a nearly-unavoidable product of shipboard operations. Oil leaks from running machineries such as diesel generators, air compressors, and the main propulsion engine.
Oily water separator designed to separate oil from a mixture of oily water and emulsion.
Appendix 1 of the Marpol Regulations, restrict the oil content of seawater that can be legally discharged into the sea. All vessels now require an oil drain monitoring and control system along with an oil filter equipment called an oil-water separator.
The oil-water separator mainly consists of three parts
